With a name as intriguing as Fish Fillets, how can you not be interested? ZX-81 has ported the homebrew game across to the Wiz.
Fish Fillets NG is strictly a puzzle game. The goal in every of the seventy levels is always the same: find a safe way out. The fish utter witty remarks about their surroundings, the various inhabitants of their underwater realm quarrel among themselves or comment on the efforts of your fish. The whole game is accompanied by quiet, comforting music.

GPH has announced on Facebook that all FunGP games that meet system requirements for both Wiz and Caanoo will be cross platform compatible. However, if say a game is coded for the Caanoo’s RAM, which is higher than the Wiz, logically, it won’t work.
Also, SD card-based games will be incompatible with the console they were not originally bought for, due to DRM.
There’s been no word on homebrew compatibility, and I think we’ll have to wait to see what happens there.

The website for FunGP, the game/app download service in the vein of the Apple App Store is one of the most anticipated new features of GPH’s consoles, and the site has recently undergone a bit of an update. There’s not much there, but it does give a new sneak-peek at some more shots of the Caanoo, and some very bizarre looking people.
The site can be found here

Remember Sidemind? No, probably not. Me neither.
Gamepark Holdings showed this promotional image at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2009. I uncovered it again whilst looking for information about the new Caanoo console that GPH plans to unveil this year (In the next couple of days, hopefully!). I only vaguely remember seeing it, but as far as I recall, it was a planned commercial game for the Wiz system. Judging by the picture, it looks like a psychological horror-esque game in the same vein as Silent Hill. It also looks like something I’d want to play.
Here’s hoping GPH show something new from the game at this year’s E3, but if not, we may need to follow this one up.

Drumpi released his new Wiz game, “The Amazing Adventures of Echo” on the boards. It’s a colourful platformer that bears more than just a passing resemblance to Cave Story. You can find it here with Drumpi’s blurb and ED’s seal of approval.

EvilDragon has been privy to some new information about the upcoming appstore for the Wiz. Apparently:
“1. FunGP Developer Test in Korea
The first test for FunGP will start today in Korea. When the testing is finished, it will fully open.
After that, the next step will b top open it up to the rest of the world.
2. More Games
Propis and Deicide 3 were just the beginning – more games will follow.
The next game will be similar to Zelda – I’ll keep you informed.
Additionally, GPH has licensed about 30 classic arcade games until now, so expect more fully legal arcade emulation soon!”
Fingers crossed it’s a success, the Wiz deserves some more!

Alert, a really slick looking shmup just got ported over to everyone’s favourite Korean console by it’s developer, Jumpei Isshiki. You will definitely want to give this game a go.
