With a name as intriguing as Fish Fillets, how can you not be interested? ZX-81 has ported the homebrew game across to the Wiz.
Fish Fillets NG is strictly a puzzle game. The goal in every of the seventy levels is always the same: find a safe way out. The fish utter witty remarks about their surroundings, the various inhabitants of their underwater realm quarrel among themselves or comment on the efforts of your fish. The whole game is accompanied by quiet, comforting music.
This is Ginge. No, not that kid that got bullied a lot in your class at school, this is a genuine bonafide GP2x emulator, playable on the Wiz and Pandora. I know what you’re thinking – witchcraft, right? But Notaz seems to have pulled it off, and it’s looking pretty spectacular. It opens both the Wiz and the Pandora (and potentially the Caanoo) up to hundreds more games and applications. My mind is blown.
Spanish distributor Hardcore Gamer has revealed pictures of a bunch of new accessories that GPH is manufacturing, and will be available soon. Among those are the official Caanoo wifi stick, an Ext to USB adaptor for the Wiz, and the fabled TV out cable, compatible with both.
GPH has announced on Facebook that all FunGP games that meet system requirements for both Wiz and Caanoo will be cross platform compatible. However, if say a game is coded for the Caanoo’s RAM, which is higher than the Wiz, logically, it won’t work.
Also, SD card-based games will be incompatible with the console they were not originally bought for, due to DRM.
There’s been no word on homebrew compatibility, and I think we’ll have to wait to see what happens there.
Want to be Gamepark Holdings’ friend? Of course you do!
Adding GPH to your Facebook account will mean that you’ll get the latest updates on hardware and software, but most importantly, you will be one of the first with access to the unveiling of the Caanoo. This is sure to happen soon, so add the official Caanoo page to your Facebook account now!
The website for FunGP, the game/app download service in the vein of the Apple App Store is one of the most anticipated new features of GPH’s consoles, and the site has recently undergone a bit of an update. There’s not much there, but it does give a new sneak-peek at some more shots of the Caanoo, and some very bizarre looking people.
When not busy at his day job collecting screams to power the city of Monsteropolis, James P. “Sulley” Sullivan likes nothing more than to relax and unwind with a Wiz and his brand new copy of Deicide.
Gamepark Holdings showed this promotional image at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2009. I uncovered it again whilst looking for information about the new Caanoo console that GPH plans to unveil this year (In the next couple of days, hopefully!). I only vaguely remember seeing it, but as far as I recall, it was a planned commercial game for the Wiz system. Judging by the picture, it looks like a psychological horror-esque game in the same vein as Silent Hill. It also looks like something I’d want to play.
Here’s hoping GPH show something new from the game at this year’s E3, but if not, we may need to follow this one up.
Hi guys. I just happened to come across another European stockist of the Wiz. Tuxbrain.com, a spanish company who also carries the Ben Nanonote, has the Wiz in stock for just under 155 Euros. Not too shabby.
Of course, you can still purchase the Wiz from gp2x.de for the absolutely awesome price of 125 Euros, but stocks are severely limited and it is the store’s last shipment.
